Laser Resurfacing/Rejuvenation

The north state has many activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately, the north state has a prolific sun that without proper skin care and protection, will lead to sun damage. Sun damage may manifest as pigmented spots (dyschromias), fine lines, large pores, scars, and even deep lines. Many people believe that this sun damage can be “pulled” out with facelift, which is not true.

Dr Tate will carefully assess your goals and decide on the best procedure for you. Many times this may be a non-invasive treatment such as routine facials, skin care and sunscreen. For those with advanced skin aging and/or solar damage, the fractional co2 laser may be for you. Dr Tate will carefully assess your goals and decide on the best procedure for you. Co2 Lasers have been used for many years. They are very effective at treating the sun damage that we often see in the north state. Unfortunately, although effective, they have the risk of pigmentation issues and scarring. These adverse effects, led to the development of fractional technology. Fractional technology, “fractionates” the treatment area into treated skin and untreated skin. The net effect, is that the untreated skin allows the treated skin to heal much faster with significantly less complications. Patients can often have treatment and be back to work in less than 1 week. Co2 Lasers have been used for many years. The Ultrapulse Encore laser has two types of treatments. The “Active Fx” is used to treat the superficial pigmentary abnormalities and fine superficial lines. The “Deep Fx” is used to treat the deeper lines. The depth and power of treatment can be carefully adjusted by Dr. Tate to give you desireable results. Patients often come to the office, disturbed by the “smokers lines” around the mouth. When these lines are especially deep, they are difficult to treat with fillers, superficial peels or even with lasers. For the patients, dermabrasion is an outstanding treatment. This is not to be confused with microdermabrasion, which is not nearly as aggressive as dermabrasion. With this treatment, a diamond coated burr, lightly sands down the top layer of skin. The depth of treatment is expertly customized by Dr. Tate and is often performed in the office in conjunction with laser treatment.

Testimonial

Dear Dr. Tate and Staff,

I just wanted to write you a note to let you know just how much I appreciate your care and expertise with regards to my laser resurfacing procedure. I can honestly say “I look good!!!” and I’m feeling good about myself too. What confidence boost!

Being the age I am and the busy schedule I have with the kids that are still at home, I very rarely took the time to care for my face. It’s amazing just how much skin damage I had! I didn’t even realize. Dr. Tate did an amazing job “erasing” the past off my face!!!! :-) That’s how I refer to it with my husband when talking with him of the procedure and the results. To me, “erase” is more defining of what the procedure did for me.

And thank you to Rachel for teaching me that taking care of my face/skin properly does not take any time at all. I am still in awe that all I have to do is wash and moisturize my face with the products she taught me to use, apply tinted sunscreen (for me, replacing foundation), a little face powder, some eye makeup and viola! I’m all done and look like I took an hour to do it all! In fact, now, washing my face and putting make up on takes less time then it does for my husband to get ready!

Thank you all, not only for your expertise, but for your welcoming kindness.

With sincere gratitude,

K.P.      4/27/2015
